Take a chance while you still have a choice

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
~ Mark Twain

We have a lot of freedom here in the United States.  We can pretty much do anything we want to do.  So when you take flight from your nest, don’t get scared and come flying back to it. Fly to new places and discover what life has for you.
Don’t keep telling yourself one day; one day I’ll do it. Why? Because, you never will do it if you keep saying you will but you don’t take any action. Just saying that you will won’t get you anywhere. Take a chance! Whether it be moving out of your house, playing sports, being a baseball manager, or going to different countries that are so different from your home.  If you have the opportunity, then jump right in! So what if you’ll be outside of your comfort zone. It will be an amazing, or not so amazing experience; but an experience.
I’m known for being a procrastinator; not on my homework, but with other things. About five months ago, I was supposed to finish an application for this school I’m going to; of course I haven’t done it. They call me all the time but I never answer the phone or call them back. I did this because I hate talking to people that I don’t know on the phone. I finally realized that, Alyssa, you need to call these people back and get it all over with and done. I actually called them just before writing this blog. I feel so much better because I did.
We have a choice every single day to choose to wake up or go to school or to be in a bad mood, go to church, not go to church, or marry who we want!  We have the choice because it’s our own life. I think that we should be thankful that we have a choice to make; so take a chance while you still have a choice. I agree with Mark Twain. In the future you will look back and regret, not what you did, but what you didn’t do. I know I already have some of those regrets. So, to change that, I have taken a lot of chances with things.
If you don’t take a chance in life, how do you expect to get anywhere in your life? I say heck with it. Take a chance; take a leap of faith; because you never know what you might miss out on.
