That is so annoying!

You know what really annoys me?  When someone who never watched the NFL just decides that their favorite team happens to be my favorite team.  Uh, hello! You can’t just do that.  First of all, you have to actually watch them play and know at least three players and why you like them; in my opinion anyways.  Then, what even makes it more annoying, is when their “favorite team” is playing in the super bowl a year later, they say “I don’t want them to win.  I’m not going for them.”  What the HECK!!!!!!! You told me that they were your favorite team! Make up your freakin’ mind.  Who does that?  I won’t say.
Anyways, another thing that annoys me is when people, mainly teenagers, say oh we’re poor.  We don’t have that kind of money.  Then why do you have expensive name brand clothes, cell phones, iPods, cars, and so much more? We don’t appreciate what we have; if we only knew that even the poorest of us were rich compared to the rest of the world. If I could, I would have all people who aren’t happy for what they have to go to a foreign country. I’m not talking about the rich parts. We need to go out and really see what it’s like to be poor. I’ve gone to Mexico where they live in; I wouldn’t even call them houses. They live in pieces of whatever they can find: Pieces of wood, metal, anything that will shelter them. The little kids run around the dirt streets, where their sewage runs because they don’t have a sewage system, in their bare feet. Most of the people wear the same clothes because that’s the only pair that they have; yet they are so happy and thankful for what they do have. They are always running around playing soccer or wrestling around.  They love to give even though they have so little.
When I went to Panama, their homes were straw huts. They had no walls anywhere. Everything is wide open. Most of the kids had no shirts or shoes. They had no cars in their small village. The food they had was just running around their village; chickens. There were a lot of chickens. Or they just pick the fruit right off the trees.  They don’t really have yards, just one big open space in the jungle with a hut there and a hut here. The way they cut their grass is a man will take his machete and go hack at the grass until its short enough. They were so happy to have us there. They had no idea who we were when we showed up, but they are so open and wanting to play and talk to us. They have no idea about anything beyond their village. But they are also so happy. Maybe they wonder about a lot of things, but they are not depressed or complaining.
That’s what we need to do; appreciate what we have and realize that we have it very good. So yes, when I see how these people live and here my classmates complain about what they do not have, I get a little defensive, even if it’s not me who’s living in poverty.

  1. I really do agree with you that everyone does need to realize that there are others out there in the world who don't have the things that we possess, like cellphones, jobs, mp3s, Ipods, an education, and perhaps a family. We regret and take so many things for granted but we don't realize the real cost and how lucky we are to have them. We assume that "oh, hey its nothing really" but when you look at the other side of the world there are a lot of things that people would do just to get something that we can get so easily here in the states. People are ignorant and self-interested that they don't consider the value of things... but then again, there are the affable and loving people who do try to make things better for everyone or contribute to some kind of charity for those nations or villages that need assistance. Your post really is meaningful and deep:)

  2. I see why that first thing is so annoying but you shouldn't let it get to you. You know, someone else's opion doesn't have to effect you. I think you're losing more than them by letting it bug you so you should just let it go. In the eternal perspective it's all just a blink of an eye really. Don't let the little things get under your skin it's a waist of your time. And time is valuble.
